Research Center for Business Administration


1. Vision

The Research Center for Business Administration aims to contribute to fulfilling the vision of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies to be the leader in Romania in education and research for economics, legal and administrative sciences and also to be among the top-performing European universities.

For this purpose, the Research Center pursues de development of excellence in business administration research so that it becomes a reliable partner in international research projects, in the context of the challenges generated by the complex highly dynamic economic environment, marked by the multiplication of globalisation economic effects.


2. Mission

The Research Center for Business Administration has the mission to promote basic and applied research in business administration with special emphasis on interdisciplinary approach of topics of national and international interest by its research teams consisting of teachers, researchers, master students and on develop partnerships with business environment in Romania and in other countries. To the same end, doctoral research projects are part of the developed research based on projetcs won by competition.

The Research Center for Business Administration also aims to generate new knowledge in business administration, disseminated both through publications and through national and international conferences, in order to increase the international visibility of its research teams. The Recearch Center aims to become a link between the academic and business environment, involving the research teams of the Center in consulting activities, expertise and other scientific services to companies from Romania.


3. Area of interest

The main areas of interest for the scientific research conducted by the Research Center for Business Administration are:

• Developing an entrepreneurial culture in Europe, by promoting values and practices specific to entrepreneurial management

•Defining business excellence models, in a multicultural context • Increasing the competitiveness of SMEs by developing their capacity for innovation;

• Improving business performance by implementing integrated management systems quality-environment-security- social responsibility

• Designing and implementing models, techniques and tools to increase business competitiveness in the Romaninan business environement;

• Improving the quality and performance of education system and scientific research in universities in Romania, using the integration of new management practices oriented towards the business environment.  

4. Strategic objectives for the period 2021-2025

The strategic objectives of the Research Center for Business Administration for the period 2021-2025 are:
Capacity development of the Research Center for Business Administration to define research projects that will receive funding under the national and international research programs by:

  • developing and strengthening scientific links with other research centers within the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, with universities and research institutions within the business administration enivronment in Romania and abroad;
  • participating in national and international competitions with research projects developed in partnership with other universities, institutions, research centers from Romania and other countries; identify and enable funding sources for European research projects;
  • participating in consortiums with partners from Romania and other countries in developing projects to participate in international competitions;
  • partnerships with universities, research and business organisations from Romania and other countries;
  • ensuring the inclusion of Research Center activity in the European circuit of scientific values;
  • further developing research projects for SMEs;
  • developing new research business projects in Romania;
  • initiating research business projects with European Union and developing international projects;
  • developing research skills, particularly multidisciplinary research for young colleagues from the center, for PhD and master students, with a focus on international scientific performance research;
  • integrating students in research projects conducted in other activities organized by the center;
  • enhancing the capacity of the center’s research teams in mathematically modeling economic phenomena and effectively implementing said models in economic practice;
  • attracting secondary education faculty as well as business specialists for research purposes in order to support and further perpetuate the Center’s activities.

Increasing the visibility of  the Research Center for Business Administration and using efficiently the results of scientific research by:

    • providing the necessary support for the  „Amfiteatrul Economic” journal The journal is classified by the National Council of Scientific Research of Higher Education (CNCSIS) in the A Category and is included in the following international databases: Clarivate Analytics Services Social Sciences Citation Index, Social Scisearch, Journal Citation Reports/Social Sciences Edition (JFI = 1,983; JCI = 0,68; AIS = 0,169; Quartila = Q2; H index = 22), Scopus (CiteScore = 2,6; SNIP = 0,715; SJR = 0,335, Quartila = Q1; H index = 22) and other international databases.
    • continue organizing workshops with business representatives from Romania and other countries to disseminate the results of the research projects;
    • organizing a forum for PhD students to present the research activities held in the center;
    • validating research results by:
      • publishing articles and papers especially in ISI magazines or in journals indexed in international databases;
      • publishing articles in national  magazines, rated B+ in CNCSIS classification;
      • participating in international conferences with program committee, with volumes indexed in the ISI database;
      • presenting the articles at prestigious international conferences.
